Venue: Nightingale Gallery, Loso Hall Eastern Oregon University Campus in La Grande, OR.

Pick-up Artwork: September 12 (Sun.) 1 p.m.-6 p.m. from Nightingale Gallery


ArtsEast would like to extend an invitation to eastern Oregon artists to participate in our “Artists of Eastern Oregon 2010” juried art exhibition at Nightingale Gallery located on the Eastern Oregon University campus. The exhibition is scheduled for August 6 (Fri.) through September 11 (Sat.), 2010. Consideration of representation from all ten counties in Eastern Oregon will be given.


Eligibility
Open to all Artists residing in Eastern Oregon in Baker, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa and Wheeler Counties. Any and all themes of expression define the parameters of acceptable entries. Previous honored artists of “Artists of Eastern Oregon” are eligible to enter, but will not be receive honors two years in a row.

Awards
Up to four (4) artists are selected to be “Honored Artists.” Honored artists receive a $250 cash award, 250 postcards of their artwork, and additional copies of the catalog. ArtsEast features and promotes “Honored Artists” work on our website and in materials promoting ArtsEast. Additionally, ArtsEast Gallery and Nightingale Gallery will host a group show featuring the works of the Honored Artists in 2011.

Submission Details
Artists may submit images of three (3) separate works; three-dimensional works may have up to three views of each piece. The entries must be digital images (72dpi resolution) JPEG files. Individual image file size should be no larger than 3MB. Label JPEG files with a number corresponding to a separate annotated image list. For example: 01.joe.smith.jpg. With the image CD, include a corresponding image list (with artist’s first and last names, title, media, date, and total dimension [HxWxD] of each work. Please also include artist’s name and contact information on the CD.

Images can either be e-mailed to: mika@artseast.org or mailed as a CD, which is readable on both PC and Mac platforms. Please label the CD with your name. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $15 per artist for up to 3 entries. If you are a member of ArtsEast, the entry fee is waived. ArtsEast membership is $35 per year.

Images must depict work created within the last three years. Art works that are accepted must be the same as the images submitted. Works previously exhibited in Artists of Eastern Oregon shows are NOT eligible.

Images must be postmarked no later than May 28, 2010. Send submissions, completed forms and entry fee to ArtsEast, P.O. Box 541 La Grande OR, 97850.

Make sure to include your phone number and your e-mail address with your entry, as well as a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) for entry returns. Notice of acceptance will be sent by July 9, 2010.


Delivery and Pickup of Art Works
Artists whose work is accepted must deliver artworks to Nightingale Gallery, Eastern Oregon University, Loso Hall, La Grande, OR 97850 via carrier service at their own expense for arrival between July 17 and 19, 2010.

Hand-delivered work will be received at Nightingale Gallery on Saturday, July 17, 2010 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and also on Monday, July 19, 2010 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Artists must make pre-paid arrangements to have their work returned to them, or may pick up their work in person at Nightingale Gallery on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Please call ArtsEast if you need to set up a different time.

Art is insured in the gallery during times specified in this ‘Call for Artists.’


General Specifications
All works must be suitable for display and/or hanging. Wall mounted works must be ready for hanging and be no more than eight (8) feet by eight (8) feet, including the frame, and weigh no more than 125 pounds. Site-specific installations are subject to suitability of existing spaces.

All works must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, address, and phone number and email address. Labels must also show the work’s Title, Medium, Date of Creation, and (retail) value of the piece as set by the artist.


Workshops
In conjunction with the show, ArtsEast will offer Professional Development Workshops the day of the Opening Reception. Class size is limited so those interested must pre-register. The cost for each workshop is $10. Please contact ArtsEast for more information.
