About the Artist:
Alice treasures the interaction with others that the theater experience allows us to explore. Through theater, we develop a context for exploring new ideas and for better understanding our connection with others. Theater is about a deeper understanding of “the other” –the other in audience, the other on stage, and the other whose shoes you are filling as an actor. Examining our differences and similarities, theater helps us build respect for others and learn about ourselves as well. Working both individually and collectively, we have an opportunity to create a climate of acceptance in which to broaden our perspectives and express our creativity-- as well as have fun!

Residency Objectives:
Using theater games, exercises, open scenes, scripted scenes and improvisation, this exploration can be tailored to different developmental stages and needs. Residency Objectives: 1. Simple understanding of practical acting skills. 2. Enhanced appreciation and support for each other. 3. Increased self-awareness and confidence. 4. Access to terminology describing theater experiences.

Staff and Community Offerings:
Theater workshops with various emphases can be arranged for teachers, staff and community members. For example, we can work with masks, explore applications of theater for classroom use or staff development, understand the production process, or work on monologues and dialogue techniques.

Facilities and Supplies:
Access to a stage is sometimes helpful, but a classroom with chairs moved back to create both a playing area and audience area is great. Straight-backed chairs can serve as versatile furniture pieces in scene work. Alice supplies basic props.
