About the Artist: Bill's work has been exhibited and collected worldwide. He teaches cartooning and drawing in a community college Adult Education program and loves introducing cartooning to future cartoonists, young and young at heart.
Residency Description: Students will learn about composition, expressions, movement and action. Through easy to follow step-by-step demonstrations, students will learn how to draw heads, hands, feet and figures. Self-confidence is built as students discover the fun of bringing simple forms to life. Additional handouts with simple review and new suggestions will help students with future learning. If desired, a small publication of student work or funny pages can be printed at the end of the residency.
Staff and Community Offerings: Cartooning
Facilities and Supplies: A large blackboard with chalk and eraser or large marker board with eraser. Each student will need at least ten sheets of 8x11 or larger typing or bond paper (at least 10 sheets per child), two #2 pencils, a pink eraser, and one medium or fine-tip water-based felt pen per student.
Material Costs: $2.00 per student
