About the Artist: Lavonne likes people and relates well with all age groups. Her classes are very flexible so that she can tailor her teaching to the abilities of her students. La Vonne is a veteran AiR teacher with lots of experience and classroom management skills.

Residency Objectives: To teach students; 1) simple understanding of balance, 2) use of terminology to describe work completed, 3) have a glimmer of appreciation for art, 4) support differences in peers’ work, and 5) feel good about what he/she has created.

Staff and Community Offerings: Pottery workshops can be arranged for teachers or community members.

Facilities and Supplies: Lavonne likes to work in a classroom where she is stationary and students can come to her, so work supplies don't need to be transported. The use of a kiln is ideal; however, Lavonne has transported work to another school for firing. She supplies necessary tools.
