About the Artist: (BFA, Rhode Island School of Design) "Rather than return to school for an M.F.A., I chose to work three years with a practicing artist, New Mexico landscape painter Michael Eaton Smith. This taught me how to survive as an artist and gave me passion for teaching art. For the past 20 years, I have concentrated on oil painting. I paint realistically in the tradition of Edouard Manet. For over 20 years I have worked in the AiE Program, in Washington, Idaho, Arkansas and Oregon. During that time, I have developed a realistic art program which I continue to improve each year. I love working with all ages and all abilities and giving each student a positive experience with art. I believe that art is self-expression and I want to give each student the solid foundation necessary to begin that expression.
